We are now in Open beta for Planetside and the NDA has been lifted. I recently was allowed into it and spent some time running around exploring different aspects of it. I have to say its going to blow people away. The vehicles alone are a blast,from the troop transports to the 4wheel drive with a turret. The foot soldier role is also fun,giving you the abilitie to earn power armour. Heavier and heavier weapons as you go along in experince.
The XP system is pretty straight forward. The more you fight/fly/drive the better you get at it. You earn Certificate points for each battle rank you earn and you use these to learn the skills neccesary to use certain weapons and drive certain vehicles.
All in all its a very well constructed game with low load times after the initial login. Lag could be an issue in very intense battles but they've taken steps to ensure its an enjoyable gaming experince. A very streamlined interface is just one of the many little tweaks that make this game so much fun.
