Recruitment guidelines for Legion *Read BEFORE applying*

Since you're reading this, I guess you are interested in joining Legion. After reading this post, you should have a pretty good idea on what to do, write and what we expect from our applicants.

History:
Legion been around for 11 years, and we've been playing pretty much every MMO/online game ever since.
It all started in Planetarion, then moved on to Anarchy Online and Star Wars Galaxies. Then it was World of Warcraft. Now most of us are moving on to Star Wars - The old Republic, and we're going to hit it hard.
You are not only applying to a SW:ToR guild, but a big gaming community who's playing a lot of different games. As a member of Legion, you can join us in every game we're playing.

What we expect from our applicants:
- You should be 18 years or older (exceptions can be made, but that is mostly for friends and family (see further down)). We do this to keep a quality level of maturity within the guild and represent us in the proper way.
- Social on the forum, Ventilo and mIRC. This is a requirement.
- You should be friendly, active and helpful. Your way into Legion is through our members, since it's they who either vouch or veto your application. If you don't do any effort to get to know them and contribute, you will be removed from the guild, as we got others who would do a lot to get your spot.
- Know your class(es). If you're new to a game, this is not the guild for you. We expect our applicants to know their class, how to play it, and be open to our input regarding talents/play style.
You should be a team player. We're a big guild with a lot of members. We have fun, raid, pvp and enjoy the game together. We don't need you if you're going to play solo.

Friends and family:
So what do you do if you're a members friend or family? First you have to register a forum name. Then you write a little post about yourself in the Enlistment forum. A little basic about yourself, name, age, in game names, games you've played, games you want to play with us, job, playtime etc. You get the point. We just want to know a little about yourself, and of course, who's your sponsor, because that's your key into Legion.
Regarding what your sponsor says, if your application is just a couple of lines, you won't get access.

After you post your application, and your sponsor has confirmed this, you get forum access and can join us in every game you want.

General applicant:
If you don't have a rich uncle in Legion, or good friend, and want to join the guild, we haven't closed recruitment completely, so don't worry.
The same thing goes for you; Write an application here in the Enlistment forum. It would pay off to put more effort into it, so that people can get to know who you really are. If you've played with some of our members, be sure to add that, since that can get you some extra vouches. Try to team up with members of our guild in game, help out if you run past some or ask if you can give them a helping hand. Everything could help to give you some vouches.
If you don't try to make an effort, and think your sexy nick or big biceps will get you into the guild, you're wrong. Then your application will mostly be here to rot and not go anywhere.

Once you are accepted as an applicant:
You will get your forum access sorted out, and invited to the guild under the applicant rank.
The forum application you wrote will be moved to a members only section for comments, vouches or vetoes. Once the members said what they think about you, Legion command will decide to either promote you to full worthy member or remove you from the guild. In some cases, we might give the applicant a 2nd applicant period, if there are some minor fixes needed.

For anyone who's interested in joining us, either you are friend, family or another applicant, we use IRC (yes, it's oldschool, but we like it!) - you're welcome to join, chat with our members or join the idle club. This might also be a way into Legion, at least you can make some new friends this way.

Legion IRC server: vts.legionhq.org or IRC web browser
Legion Ventrilo server: ventrilo.i3d.net port: 3973 pass: legion

Good luck, and see you ingame! :)

UPDATE: Legion is going to play on US East, PVP, Sith - and the server name is Port Nowhere.

All of our applicants needs to be playing on that server.

Port Nowhere info:

Port Nowhere was a spaceport located in uncharted space during the Cold War. The spaceport was a haven for pirates, smugglers and other criminals due to its anonymous location. It provide several features including bars, gambling, and night entertainment. SIS spy Theron Shan made a stop at the port to gain clearances and navigation charts for Imperial space and in the process fought off and knocked unconscious a spaceport security officer.

More applicant info:

Once the command crew get their early access mail and get sorted ingame, we'll invite applicants. But hop on our IRC server (info in the first post) and be active there, and you might get invited faster that way.

Since most applicants ignore this thread, I'm going to use a fat, big font to say this:

If it's obvious that you've copied an old application, haven't read this sticky thread before posting, or written a poor/shitty/sucky/lazy application (no matter if you're friend or family) - IT WILL BE REJECTED FROM THIS DAY.

If you want to join Legion, use your time to write a good application! I'm not going to spend more time sorting out your forum access, than what it took you to write 3 lines on the forum.

If you think that writing an application is boring, and you feel like writing as little as possible, feel free to find another guild. If your applicaiton is 3-4 lines or a few words more, it will be rejected no matter if you're F&F or not.
