How does DoW compare with other games? I hear many positive comments about it.

Game moves fast due to the fact there is no resource farming. Resources are granted overtime based on how many strategic points you hold on the map. Also victory can be gained in multiplayer by controlling x %of key points, x% of total points or annihalating your opponent.

Games alot of fun.

Got this for xmas and only recently started playing 2days ago. I used to collect Eldar a long time ago on the tabletop game. So i'm trying to get good with Eldar in this. Only problem is that Eldar specialist units are only good at one thing only and well... can't do anything else. Any tips/replays/build orders from pro DoW players would be nice.

I got DoW right when it was released and we played it pretty hardcore for a few months. I found Eldar to be the worst race to play on the game but I do know a few others that could hang as Eldar.

After playing Orcs for quite a while I switched to SMs and could pretty much dominate a team match with some of the other SFers that used to get on. Lemmie know if any of you guys wanna get a few matches up.

If you play Space Marines - get proficient with the scouts. The extension of LOS is really worth the points from the unit allowance.

Just my 2 cents.

I like playing the comp like 2 on 1. If you can get the space marines to where you can get out 5 of the big tanks its game over. Once fully upgraded they can flatten a base in a matter of seconds.

I've downloaded a few good Elder players replays, hoping to get good. Although, after watching it and then trying to micro-manage my units like the pro's, it doesn't seem to pull off.

Heres my Build Order for Eld on Blood River map starting in bottom left corner, if anyone has any input please let me know.

Early Game:

Queue BoneSinger[BS], Gaurdian (x2), Fleet of Feet
BS1 build Aspect Portal
BS2 build Aspect Portal
Guardian1 capture 1st SP
Guardian2 capture 2nd SP
Queue Farseer
Activate FoF on gaurdians - Guardian1 capture 3rd SP
BS1 build LS on 1st SP
Queue Howling Banshee aspect stone
Gaurdian2 capture Relic
BS2 build LS on 2nd SP
Destroy Aspect Portal upon completion of Farseer
Queue Howling Banshee
BS1 build LP on 3rd SP
Guardian1 capture 4th SP (East of base - Across River)

Activate FoF on Banshees + Reinforce
Reinforce Guardian2
Attack
Queue Dark Reaper Aspect Stone
Reinforce Guardian1
Attack
Queue Dark Reapers
BS1 Build LS on 4th SP

Early-Mid Game:

BS2 build Power Gen
BS1 buildSoul Shrine
BS2 build Webway Gate
BS1 build Power Gen
Queue 2 Shuriken Anti Grav's
Queue Dark Reaper + Howling Banshee
Queue Warp Spider Aspect Stone
Queue Warp Spider

Sorry if thats hard to read/understand, but generally it beats most SM players. I've never got to the point where i've had to research mobilize for war... Either i have won by then, or i've been beaten.

usually if im playing Eldar Ill try to go Orc just to squash the farseer rush at the beginning. I can mass about 20 orcs to take em down fast and keep them from building up fast. Im not really that good with SM against a good fast starting eldar player though.

Orcs is normally easy to deal with when i'm Eldar, instead of Howling banshees i opt for the dark reapers or warp spiders and do the following B/O:

Queue BS, Gaurdian (x2) + Fleet of Feet
Queue Aspect Portal and Power Generator
Queue Farseer + Reaper or Spider Aspect Stone

The above seems to work pretty well against orcs but against SM or Chaos i find that dark reapers don't do so well against the armor. But i'm improving all the time on online play micro is getting a bit faster etc and i can normally squash an insane SM or Chaos in under 6 mins using Eldar.
